How are DC Leopards teams formed?

Step 1) Daniel Webster Parents MUST register their child on our Player Evaluation Form.

Step 2) Your child MUST attend the Player Evaluation Session (to be determined at a later time) so that the coaches can evaluate their skill level.

Step 3) Coaches will select their players on the team with the final roster being approved by the Director of DC Leopards Basketball

3.1) The minimum number of players on a team will be 9 and the maximum will be 10.

Step 4) Team Results will be posted on this website

4.1) Players who make the teams will need to pay a player registration fee before the deadline  to be part of the team.

4.2) For those who do not make a team, we will place them on a waiting list just in case there is an opening.

Step 5) Team uniforms will be passed out before the first game of the league.

Please note that any player who didn't make our teams will be automatically placed on our Waiting List. IF a spot opens up, we will email those players as soon as possible

How many teams will be formed?

DC Leopards Basketball will doing everything to place a player on a team. But there will be times when a player will not be able to join a team.

Here are some factors we consider when we can't form a team or place a player on a team:

1) Not enough coaches to form a team

   - Example: 23 players sign up but only two coaches are available. 3 players will not be selected

2) Not enough players to form a team of 9 or 10 Players

   - Example-  15 players sign up with 2 coaches. We can only form one team of 10 players. If 4 more players sign up, we could put a team of 9 but the cost per player will increase since we base our cost on a team of 10.

Can a player switch to another team?

  • Once a player is chosen on a team, he/she may not switch to another team without both coaches' approval AND the Program Director's approval
  • It is the sole discretion of the Director of DC Leopards Basketball Program to move a player from one team to another if the need arises.

What is the cost per player?

NEW Player Cost: $200.00 per player (based on a 10 person roster)

  • Includes 1 set of DC Leopards uniform (jersey & shorts)

The cost will also include the following:

  • Dedicated DC Leopards Basketball website
  • Dedicated TeamSnap account
  • DC Leopards Administration Fees
  • Daly City Basketball League Team Registration
  • 6x 60min team practices (1 practice per week)
  • 6 regular season games (usually 1 game per week) depending on the number of teams in your division
  • Possible playoff games depending on division standing and the number of teams in your division

  (subject to change without notice)

PLEASE NOTE:

  • There will be a $50 deposit when you sign up for the DC Leopards Player Evaluation Form which will either be applied to the Player Fees or refunded if the player is not selected on any of our teams
  • If the team roster is LESS THAN 10 players then the cost could be higher than $200.00 per player.

What is your Refund Policy?

DC Leopards Basketball Program will not issue any refund once payment has been received and uniforms have been ordered.

When does the League start?

The Daly City Basketball League usually starts the second week of January and will run through either the first or second week of March. Team practices will be held once a week depending on coach's availability.

Welcome to the DC Leopards Basketball Program. We are excited to bring organized basketball to the 4th and 5th grade students of Daniel Webster Elementary School. We will form teams based on the number of coaches who volunteer.

DC Leopards teams will play in the Daly City Youth Basketball League, a recreational league that focus on good sportsmanship and having fun!
